The Granary- Accessibility Statement and additional information
The Granary is one of 7 traditional Pembrokeshire cottages built around an attractive courtyard. Renovated throughout and is furnished in a contemporary style which compliments the traditional stone features.
There are 2 parking spaces available in the dedicated car park at the rear of the property, from which, following initial access from the courtyard, the Granary can be entered. The car park is not lit but street lighting from neighbouring streets ensures a reasonable level of light. The car park has a tarmac surface and has a slight, gradual incline from the rear of the property to the car park entrance which is a distance of approximately 20 metres. On exiting the car parking to the left, the surface continues to be of tarmac construction for a further 8 metres. The courtyard immediately in front of the property is surfaced in traditional flag stone which is uneven in places. The Granary is found in the left hand corner.
The door to the property is a standard size 33 inches wide and sits on a 2 inch high stone step. There is an external light to the property which ensures the area is well lit. The front door leads directly into the main living area. This consists of an open plan lounge and kitchen. There is Kardean flooring throughout the ground floor. The main living area is well lit during the day by natural light from the 2 large sea view windows. At night there are many inbuilt ceiling lights that can be utilised., along with softly lit lamps. There are 2 sofas, an armchair and a coffee table. There is a 42 inch television , a play station console, DVD player and free-sat box on a corner cabinet. In the opposite corner is a music centre. There is a large stone fireplace housing a wood burner.
The kitchen is modern with fitted units and has an inbuilt electric cooker with electric hob above. A microwave, toaster, kettle and Tassimo coffee machine can be found on top of the units, whilst all of the kitchen utensils are housed in the draws and cupboards. There is a small washing machine, dishwasher and a large free standing fridge freezer. The table in the kitchen from the floor to lowest point is 26 inches There are 6 free standing chairs. There is kitchen roll, dish cloth, scourer, cling film, kitchen foil, sandwich bags, washing tablets, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, salt and pepper, vinegar and cooking available.
French doors lead from the kitchen onto a slate covered surface opposite the garden gate which leads to the car park. There is an outside light . There are 3 steps from here to the gate, each at 210mm in height. There is also a decked area for seating. The decking sits at 280 mm above the slate covered area. There is garden furniture on both the decking and on the slate chippings. The cushions for the garden sofa are kept on top of the wardrobe in the downstairs bedroom. There is also a barbeque area for disposable barbeques. There is an outside tap to the left of the French doors.
Also situated on the ground floor is a shower room with toilet. The door opening to the shower room is 30 inches wide the toilet stands at 16 inches high. The wash hand basin is 35 inches high. Lighting is via a small slim window , ceiling lights and above mirror shaving light. There is a heated towel rail. There are complementary toiletries and 2 toilet rolls.
In addition, the first bedroom with a king size bed is just off the kitchen. The bed can be separated to create two singles if required ( requested before stay ). The door opening is 27 inches wide and the bed is 26 inches high. Lighting is via a large window. This is supplemented by a ceiling light and lamps. There is a wardrobe in the corner of the room, containing an airer , iron and mattress for the travel cot. Next to the wardrobe is an ironing board and an outdoor parasol. The outdoor furniture cushions are stored on top of the wardrobe.
Upstairs is accessed by a spiral staircase. This leads into the second bedroom. Headroom from floor to ceiling at the highest point is over 7 foot, but decreases as you move away from the centre of the room. There are 2 - 4 foot beds ( small double) in the eves. Light is via Velux windows. Additional light is provided by ceiling light and lamps. There are floating shelves next to the beds with lamps. There is chest of draws which is attached to the wall for safety. A hairdryer is found in the top draw. An electric fan and additional blankets are available. There is a laundry basket in this room.
A shower room and toilet are accessed at one end of this room. The wash hand basin here is 34 inches in height. The shower stands between the wash hand basin and toilet which is 18 inches high. There is a floating shelf , heated towel rail and 2 hooks for hanging clothes. At the opposite end of this room there is a third bedroom which is accessed directly from inside this second bedroom. Two single beds with draws are in the eves of this room. Light is provided via two Velux window and lamps. There is a free standing clothes rail at the end of the room. Alongside of this is a small chair which enjoys views out to sea. There are 2 bedside tables by each bed. An electric fan is also provided along with additional blankets.
There is a large communal garden area accessed from the tarmac in front of the courtyard which contains a large grass area with a stone path. Please keep your dog on a lead in this area. A number of benches are situated here. There is a communal washing line. Please be aware on the edge of the communal garden there is a picket fence that prevents entry to an area of boggy ground and this can be a water danger to children. There is a covered well within the picket fence. Do not enter into the area secured by the picket fence.
Additional Information
Covid- We follow a strict cleaning schedule between each stay. Our risk assessment can be found in the second file kept in the cottage. Dates confirming cleaning are also recorded in the 2nd file.

Bed linen and Towels – All beds will be made up prior to arrival. Bath towels and hand towels are provided. Additional linen and towels are available should they be required. Please could you strip your beds on departure and place it in the IKEA bags supplied.
Wifi is available - 4GEE WIFI MINI. Code is on rear of device on windowsill. It is also available at the 2 closest cafes to the Granary - The Havens Beach Cafe and at The Ocean.
There is a PS3 console with various games.
Games and books – Games and books can be found in the wooden box in the lounge .
A Travel Cot is available on request.
A High chair is located next to the downstairs bedroom.
Bins and Recycling – Wheelie bins are available at the top of the car park for all your recycling and refuse needs. Please separate your waste accordingly.
Wood burner- Wood, kindling and paper are supplied for an initial fire. Further supplies can be obtained from the Londis shop or in supermarkets in Haverfordwest.
Pets- We welcome pets ( 2 dogs maximum) and recognise that they are part of the family but please ensure pets are kept off the soft furnishings and out of bedrooms as a consideration to other guests. We have suppled fleece blankets to cover the furniture if your pets are used to sitting on the sofa. If pets use the garden area please clean up after them.
Checkout – We hope you have enjoyed your holiday. Please would you be ready to leave by 10:00am. Please put the thermostat at 12 degrees. We will see you at your departure however you need to leave early you can leave the keys in the key safe box (we will provide code if required) and scramble the numbers. Please leave spare keys on the kitchen table.
